Admission Information
Undergraduate Admissions
The Department of Mathematics offers an undergraduate course of study
that leads to the following degrees within the College of Letters, Arts and
Sciences:
- B.A. and B.S. in Mathematics
- B.A. and B.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics
- B.S in Mathematics/Economics
- B.S./M.S. in Mathematics (Progressive Degree Program)
- B.S. in Economics and Mathematics/M.S. in Mathematical Finance (Progressive Degree Program)
In addition, we also offer the following minor programs:
- Mathematics
- Mathematical Finance
Admission to undergraduate programs is granted by the

Graduate Admissions
The Department of Mathematics offers the following graduate degrees:
- M.A., M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics
- M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematics
- M.S. in Mathematical Finance
- M.S. in Statistics
- M.S. in Computational Molecular Biology
All Ph.D. applicants must submit the following: general GRE
test score, subject (in Math) GRE test score, 3 letters of
recommendation, a statement of purpose and a resume.
Applications to graduate programs are processed through the USC Office

There is no departmental application nor supplemental application.
All Ph.D. applicants will be evaluated for eligibility for departmental
aid, no application is necessary.
